Q. Introduce yourself
I’m Susan O’Hare, a trustee at Footwear Industry Trust. I’m also a member of the British Footwear Association and a Liveryman of Worshipful Company of Pattenmakers.
  

Q. What is your connection/history with the
footwear industry?
I have a previous working history within clothing and footwear categories, leading design teams and retail buying. This includes 20 years as a buyer developing products for Marks and Spencer, Design Director for Courtaulds and Product Director for Start-rite shoes. I’ve also worked as a consultant for both existing and new companies entering the footwear trade.


Q. Why did you get involved with FIT?
I wanted to be involved with FIT so I could contribute my time and give back to fellow members of the footwear industry that need help. I also wanted to support the trustees in the strategic plans for the future of the charity.


Q What aspects of FIT are you most proud of?
The help the charity gives to those in need who have worked in our industry and the careful and sensitive handling of each case individually.
